First We Need to Know Your Model
On MacBooks, replacing the drive works entirely differently depending on the model year, and if this distinction is not known from the outset, hopes are raised in vain. On the models from 2012 to 2015 the drive is a removable SSD card and can be upgraded. On some 2016-2017 models it is likewise in card form. However On models from 2018 onwards and on all Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3) models, the SSD is soldered directly to the logic board and no capacity upgrade can be carried out. On these models the solution is to expand storage with an external SSD or to set up cloud storage.
Situations Requiring Disk Replacement
- The disk keeps filling up: A capacity upgrade is the most effective solution on models with a removable SSD.
- The system has slowed down, applications open late: When the disk is full, macOS has no virtual memory space left; performance collapses.
- Disk errors, files are disappearing: The SSD may have reached the end of its life. It is measured with SMART data.
- Write cycles exhausted: This is seen on heavily used older SSDs; the drive may drop into read-only mode.
- The Mac does not start, the drive is not visible: It may be a disk fault or a cable problem; this is distinguished.
How Does the Process Work?
1. Model and Compatibility Identification
The exact model is determined from your device's serial number. We tell you clearly at the very first step whether the disk is removable; we do not promise work that cannot be done.
2. Verileriniz Güvende
İşleme başlamadan önce verileriniz güvence altına alınır. Disk okunamıyorsa Data Recovery stage is started.
3. SSD Fitting and Installation
A compatible SSD is installed, macOS installation is carried out and your data is transferred. We hand the device over working and ready for use.
4. You Keep Your Old Drive
The removed drive is handed over to you. If you wish, you can fit it into an external enclosure and use it as a backup drive; we will help you choose an enclosure.
What an SSD Upgrade Brings
A System That Breathes
When disk occupancy falls, the freezes in macOS decrease noticeably.
Data Transfer Included
Your documents, your applications and your settings are moved to the new disk.
Honest Compatibility
On a model with a soldered SSD no upgrade can be carried out; we tell you this from the outset.
You Keep the Old Drive
The removed drive is handed over and can be used as a backup.
