Firewall: Why Is a Modem Not Enough?
In most small and medium-sized businesses, security is left to the simple firewall on the modem supplied by the internet service provider. These devices block incoming connections, but does not see the traffic going from the inside outYet the majority of the malware encountered today — ransomware, banking Trojans, files arriving by e-mail — enters the network through the user's own click and connects to its command server from there.
A corporate firewall comes into play at this point: it records which computer connects to where, blocks access to known malicious addresses, scans e-mail and web traffic and reports suspicious behaviour. When a problem occurs, the answers to the questions “what happened, when did it happen, from which device did it happen” can only be found in these records.
What does this mean in terms of the KVKK?
Every business that processes personal data is obliged to protect that data with measures that “ensure an appropriate level of security”. In the decisions of the Board, network segmentation, the keeping of access records and the use of up-to-date security software frequently appear among the measures that are required. The installation of a firewall does not by itself mean compliance, but it forms the technical infrastructure for these measures.
How Does the Installation Proceed?

- 4. Güvenli uzaktan erişim: Evden ya da şubeden çalışacak kullanıcılar için güvenli bağlantı kurulur.
- 5. Testing, commissioning and handover: Sistem işinizi aksatmayacak bir zamanda devreye alınır ve bir süre izlenerek ince ayarı yapılır. Sonunda gerekli bilgiler işletmenize teslim edilir.
