Backup System Installation in Ankara
Altunakar Bilgisayar provides NAS (Network Attached Storage) installation and data backup solutions to private and corporate customers in Ankara. Our services include the installation of Synology, QNAP and other NAS brands, RAID configuration, automated backup scenarios, cloud synchronisation and the creation of disaster recovery plans.

Our Installation Process Step by Step
1. Survey and inventory
4. Scheduling and retention
6. Restore test and monitoring
The 3-2-1 Backup Rule
The one practical rule in data backup that has not changed for years is this: of the data, three copies of it should exist, and these copies On 2 different media should be kept, at least 1 copy should be at a different physical location.
In practice this looks as follows: the data is worked on on the computer (1st copy), is backed up automatically overnight to the NAS in the office (2nd copy, different medium), and the NAS in turn is synchronised weekly to a cloud account or to a second disk kept at home (3rd copy, different location). In an event which affects the whole of the office, such as a fire, a burglary or a flood, it is the third copy that saves the business.
The most frequently made mistake
Copying by hand to a single external disk does not count as a backup. If the disk is in the office, next to the computer, the same ransomware will encrypt it as well; a disk that has been left plugged in is in any case a drive visible on the network. Manual copying is also forgotten — in practice it is very often found that the most recent backup dates from months ago. Automatic, scheduled and versioned backup (with previous versions also retained) eliminates both of these risks at once.
What to Look for When Choosing a NAS?
- Number of drive bays: A device with 2 bays can withstand the loss of one of its disks by means of RAID 1. With RAID 5/SHR, 4 bays provide both more usable space and room for growth. It is sensible to plan for at least twice today's requirement.
- Disk type: Desktop drives are not designed for 24/7 operation inside a NAS. Drives made for NAS use (such as WD Red and Seagate IronWolf) are rated for vibration and continuous operation.
- RAID is not a backup: RAID protects against a drive failing; it does not protect against accidental deletion, encryption or the complete failure of the device. The NAS itself must also have a backup.
- Network speed: If you work with video, design or CAD files, a 1 Gbit network becomes a bottleneck; support for 2.5 Gbit or link aggregation is a point that needs checking.
- Application support: On the Synology and QNAP side, features such as cloud synchronisation, camera recording, versioned backup and two-step verification are included as standard. On inexpensive devices this software layer is generally lacking.
Whether the backups can actually be restored after the setup to test is the most overlooked yet most critical step of the process; the periodic restore test maintenance agreement we carry out as part of this. If you have lost data from a drive with no backup, Data Recovery page.
We Use the Same Setup in Our Own Infrastructure
The database behind our store and our service records is backed up every night; in the morning the backup is pulled to the office and its integrity is tested, a third copy goes to the cloud, and the last fourteen days are kept on both sides. If something goes wrong, an alert reaches the phone; if all is well, the system stays silent. We describe the problem our post-installation restore test uncovered in our guide: Backup system setup.
